Thanks for the Hasui reference. My so-called specialty is education/education communities/communications during the Tokugawa period and into the Meiji period. Always happy to learn new things.

Hasui is a much later time period, relatively speaking - he passed away in the 50s.

This was the first piece by him that I bought. You can get modern runs from the original woodblocks which don’t break the bank the way originals do, thankfully.

There’s another version not in the blues, but I’m a sucker for a good blue.
