So true. With better refrigeration and quick shipping, you can get stuff made the same day shipped to you overnight, like genuine New York, New York Cheesecake or aged steaks.

My mom made crusts from scratch. These days I could probably just buy a homemade crust from some bakery made the same day and skip a step or two. Just make the crust, freeze it and take it home the same day.
Probably can’t taste the difference, and saves time as well.

My brother does homemade pie crusts - picked it up from my mother - who learned it from a pastry chef who was a friend of the family. I’m lazy and use frozen crusts from either Wegman’s or Trader Joe’s that thaw, roll out, and get put in my pie pans. And those are much better than the frozen crusts you used find in markets.
