Except in Mexico and some foreing countries. Look at old spaghetti Westerns, or Conan The Barbarian (filmed in Spain, I believe). Horse tripping is/was one of the most common stunts, and led to a lot of broken legs and dead animals. Absolutely barbaric.

I know that used to be the case, but those kinds of stunts haven’t been used in the US for many years.
