I have to partially disagree. Reform can’t wait for the war to end,I agree, but it is going to have to be done while ISIS is getting pummeled. Because the enemy will not stand still and wait while things in Baghdad are reformed. So yes, we have to hold the new Iraqi government to its promises, but we need to be bombing ISIS at the same time.

What in the world makes you think we can force lasting reform in a culture & religion that many Americans little or no knowledge or understanding of, yet feel intense hostility towards? Our past successes? If so, please list them.

Didn’t we just spend nearly 8 years trying to reform Iraq? Haven’t we already spent just shy of 13 years trying to reform Afghanistan? And what has it gotten us? ISIS in Iraq? Crooked politicians & the Taliban (still alive & well) in Afghanistan?

So yeah, let’s go intervene again and see if we can’t muck things up some more. Heck, while we’re at it maybe we can also crash our economy over war spending—that way we can destroy ourselves and save the Jihadis the trouble.
