I surmised that they are doing that for the “world audience’. It ‘looks better” to have the police taken care of an unruly crowd than admitting it’s actually the ARMY,or in this case thr Revolutionary Guard

Maybe they want the world to think that it is the Americans that are doing the beating. Just a thought.
