OK. I’m here, if only for a minute.

My best friend Ruth collapsed at my dinner table.

I saw it, and I (literally) couldn’t speak. I couldn’t stop thinking “Ruth, no! Ruth!”

My Male and his friend coped. I ran and called for an ambulance.

Did I mention that it was when I finally got to meet some nice boy I’ve been corresponding with for the last eleven years? And he’d brought his roommate?

Oh, right.

She had no pulse for about 15 seconds. She was aware and responsive when the paramedics arrived - but my Male had to do chest compressions.

In the morning, I’ll call her parents. I’m really, really, upset.

Had that happen to me at a dinner party - bad med mixes turned out - seniors tho - got her stabilized at the hosp.
