We were taking care of the almost 3-year old grandson, in Brooklyn, and got home late, but I didn't realize how late it was! We are still LOL re what he had to say...and the stuff he tried to get away with. It was our daughter and son in law's fifth anniversary! We can't even try to figure out where the 5 years went!
The kids had a great time, and we also did. But no one was glowing like daughter was! But we had all the fun with the bandit! Don't tell, but we let him stay up about 30 minutes after his bedtime. Shhhh...not a soul! Thanks! ;)
G'nite, all! Sweet dreams.

Dems red-faced over veteran imposter
Rick Strandlof, executive director of the Colorado Veterans Alliance and the man most colleagues knew as Rick Duncan, was front and center during the 2008 political campaigns in Colorado.
He spoke at a Barack Obama veterans rally in front of the Capitol in July, co-hosted several events with then- congressional candidate Jared Polis and attacked Republican Senate candidate Bob Schaffer in a TV ad paid for by the national group Votevets.org.
And the mostly Democratic candidates he supported — looking for credibility on veterans issues and the war — lapped it up appreciatively.
Now, politicians are dealing with news that the man they believed to be a former Marine and war veteran wounded in Iraq by a roadside bomb, in fact, never served in the military — but did spend time in a mental hospital.
/my question is, why do the fake veterans always seem to show up supporting and being embraced by the Bonkeys, or is that just a coincidence?

re: #47 gmsc
Today in History, May 17th:
1919 – War Department (UK) orders use of National Star Insignia on all airplanes.
I think they mean "US" rather than UK. The UK did not have a War Department, the US did. The UK has never used a star insignia on aircraft. Their insignia was (and still is) the blue, white and red (outer to inner) roundel. The US adopted the star insignia in 1919. The first one had a red dot in the middle of the white star, the latter on a blue field. The red dot was deleted early in WW2 for fear it would be mistaken for the Japanese Hinomaru ("meatball") insignia, even though the red dot was much smaller. Later, a white bar was added behind the star in the US insignia, with a red stripe added to the bar after World War 2. This insignia is still used. Before 1919, the US used a roundel with red outside, then blue, and a white center. This was identical to the old imperial Russian insignia, the Imperial air service being out of business by the time American aircraft joined the war. Before that, the US had briefly used a solid red star, later the insignia of the Soviet communist air forces, so the US and Russia essentially swapped markings during the First World War.
1974 – Police in Los Angeles, California, raid the Symbionese Liberation Army's headquarters, killing six members, including Camilla Hall.
A fine day's work altogether.

All this talk of ethnic costumes and lizard love for womenfolk of the Asian persuasion is kinda getting away from the original point I had, which was bascially wondering how well Western women could look in an 'ethnic' outfit like a Cheongsam, Qi Pao or Ao Dai...
Also worth noting that the two or three (American) women I mentioned this to said they didn't think it would be that good a look for them when I clarified that I wasn't referring to a kimono.....and then they brought it up several weeks later and said it might be a good idea after all, and the only reason they didn't warm up to it right away was because they thought I was talking about a kimono.

Houston with everybody hurt on the bench has just exposed the toughness of the laker rotating weak side defense in the paint..They are being out -toughed by guys 6'6' and 6'8' in the paint..Also..Nobody on the Lakers can guard the Houston off the bench point guard? Are you kidding me?

re: #80 Fenway_Nation
I think a cheongsam could look nice on a fairly slim non-Asian woman. Not me. But some.

Gotta be slim to do the gig - the gals who wore the Ao Dai - non-asian - well it just didn't do the same thing - may have been they didn't have the experience that the Asians did. And those Asian gals knew/know how to use it.

OK. I'm here, if only for a minute.
My best friend Ruth collapsed at my dinner table.
I saw it, and I (literally) couldn't speak. I couldn't stop thinking "Ruth, no! Ruth!"
My Male and his friend coped. I ran and called for an ambulance.
Did I mention that it was when I finally got to meet some nice boy I've been corresponding with for the last eleven years? And he'd brought his roommate?
Oh, right.
She had no pulse for about 15 seconds. She was aware and responsive when the paramedics arrived - but my Male had to do chest compressions.
In the morning, I'll call her parents. I'm really, really, upset.

No.
A Greek salad, salmon, broccoli, and rice.
She had a heart attack in January (scared me to death with that), but this week her blood work came back clean.
However, today was very warm, she'd walked at least some of the way from the train station (I know she got a ride most of the way), and she did have some sangria. And she said that she ate more than usual.
I'm really hoping that the sangria is what did it, so we know never to give that to her again. I'm just sick, thinking something I offered her might have hurt her.

Congressional Democrats and President Obama have developed a bad case of deficit amnesia.
Last July, when the federal deficit swelled to a then-record $490 billion, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) criticized President Bush for having "mortgaged our future."
But with a Democrat in the White House now, Pelosi and her colleagues are overspending as if they're determined to make the Bush-era deficits look like pocket change.
The Obama administration came out with revised figures that show that the federal deficit in the current fiscal year will reach $1.84 trillion. That's $89 billion more than the administration projected in February, as tax revenues dwindle in the deep recession.
The deficit for fiscal year 2010, which begins in October, is now forecast to be $1.26 trillion or $87 billion higher. Congress approved the president's $3.5 trillion budget for 2010 last week.
And the true budget picture is probably worse, because the administration is being overly optimistic in predicting how quickly the economy will recover.

If you dig the hole deep enough you wind up with so much debt that you can't even service the intrest. When that happens, you are screwed.
This is true for individuals as it is for the Federal Government. You can't always expect a raise to help you pay your bills, and the government can't raise taxes forever.

Kinda brings me back to the election- if this nation were an extended family, 0bama would be the 'cool' uncle that still worked in retail in his 40s that all the kids wanted to hang out with.
McCain would be the dour, grumpy great uncle or grandfather who actually knew what was best for the 'family', but less than half the relatives were listening to him because they're so mesmerized by the 'cool' uncle.

Left out the part where McCain would be the more unpleasant relative to be around, but would set a better long-term example for the youth in the family.

Hello lizards! I was wondering if I could get help with something. I'm considering getting a custom anti-Che t-shirt done to annoy my idiot fellow students over here in the UK. The trouble is, I'm not sure which angle to go for. I'm leaning towards just mocking him for being a dead Stalinist (possibly a picture of Reagan with the line "my dead conservative hero could kick your dead Stalinist hero's arse", but maybe something along the lines of

Cons: Created a paranoid Stalinist dictatorship that locks up gays and trade unionists
Pros: Cool beard

That's gotta be a handful. We're five siblings, but the last two (11 and 9) are tougher to deal with. They're the only two to grow up in LA. My two older brothers and I grew up in Fresno, where the mindset and values are just completely different than here.
I do everything in my power not to let my little brother and sister grow up like Angelinos.

That's something I wish we did more nowadays. My Mom works hard and comes home later than an ideal family dinner time would be. Plus, I work late as well, and my older brother (my other older brother is married and doesn't live at home anymore) is always out and about. Most of the time, it's just my Dad, little brother, and sister. We do our family dinner-type stuff on the weekends, most likely Sundays.

I missed Afton earlier. While his (her?) horse is dead, and his presence is no longer welcome, his post bears a little response. Sharmuta, Pawn of the Oppressor, and JCM addressed the fallacy he committed, but even that only speaks to his method. The real problem is his goal. Either he is a bit ignorant, or a bit deceptive, and I think it is the latter. We should repulse these attacks for what they are, and in order to do that, we have to recognize the content.
His post is three paragraphs each consisting of one sentence, each of which repeats his fallacious argument in varying degrees of completeness. The third and most complete is:
And as we bask in the glory of knowing that The One has successfully been elected to his Third Term as President we can all huddle around the corn burner at night and tell the children of the great Revolution of 2011 when the Keepers of the Constitution were defeated and the Workers Party of America (WPA) prevailed - science had been protected and the evangelicals had been banished to their catacombs never to see the light of day again. Hallelujah!
Folks have rightly pointed out that there is little to no connection between teaching ID nonsense and protecting America from Socialism. Either Afton is ignorant and feels that by defending the teaching of science from the idiotic precepts of ID and its fellow-travelers, we weaken the right and allow Socialism, or Afton is not actually concerned with Socialism one way or another, as long as he gets his creationism in the classroom.
It is this second possibility that alarms me more, as we are well-equipped to educate the ignorant, but we operate at a disadvantage in resisting the propaganda of a motivated, subtle opponent. On the right, we have not usually acquitted ourselves well in countering creeping socialism. We're more of the "bankrupt your whole half of the planet if we have to in order to smash communism" type of operators. Not so much with the pop-culture and media.
Either he's a little confused, or he has an agenda other than the obvious moronic screed. I think that this is another seminar caller, in radio terms, whose key issue is not socialism at all, but ID--and he is trying to recruit the opponents of socialism by default into a pro-ID stance.
Note the "branding" and associations in his third paragraph (reproduced above). Despite gutting the first amendment with ID nonsense, he calls his side the "Keepers of the Constitution" (K of C reference maybe?), and laments their banishment to the catacombs: just add lions.
Meanwhile the other side is the Workers Party of America (WPA was Roosevelt's Works Progress Administration, or Work Projects Administration after 1939). The WPA has us all in grey coats, long lines (Soviet), huddled around corn burners (global warming, eco-fuels nonsense, and an agrarian dystopian image to boot), and all of this in President Obama's third term, with FDR of course being the only three-term President to date.
His later comments and logical fallacies notwithstanding, Afton is either a good writer or knows where to cut and paste from one. So when I see a guy like this, I ask myself: Why is he posting this at LGF?
The reason I bring all of this up is to stress the importance of responding to him and his kind not as if they are confused, but as if they are hostile. The conflation of teaching ID and defending our Republican system of government is not a mistake--this is the wedge, prying apart the right.

I second your firsting of I.F.'s post. And I agree with you that the Republican Party needs an overhaul.
As for myself, almost every person I know closely tells me that I am not a Republican. When I clearly am a Republican. But I'm an atheist. They say it is impossible for an atheist to honestly be a Republican. The hair brained left is so inclusive but as I am told the right isnt. Not in the sense that being an atheist is acceptable at the core of the right. The problem is that the stereotype of a Republican in many ways still holds true.
The right has to bust apart the stereotype.

BNP could be at heart of far-right EU group
Nick Griffin, the leader of the British National Party, is poised to become a key figure in the creation of a new far-right group in the European Parliament.
Over the last year, Mr Griffin has strengthened links to extremist European groups to prepare the way for a far-right surge at euro elections next month.
High-level Labour sources have told The Daily Telegraph that a high abstention rate, fuelled by popular disgust over the Westminster MP expenses scandal, could lead to the election of at least four BNP MEPs, including Mr Griffin
..
Other extremist groups in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy and Slovakia are expected to make major gains during the elections after using the economic crisis to stir up resentment against Roma

Mom Outraged by Son's Arrest Reportedly Knew of His Web Stardom for Phone Threats
....a new report by Wired News suggests that, not only was the teenager an online superstar in rogue tech communities for his prank phone calls, but his mother may have known all along that the boy was conspiring with others to make bomb threats.
Lundeby, known online as "Tyrone," allegedly had progressed into selling his services as a threatmaker, charging schoolchildren from across the country $5 apiece to place threatening, Internet-based phone calls that would cause administrators to shut down their schools, Wired News reports.
"I heard the prank phone calls he made," his mother, Annette Lundeby, said in the Wired report. "They were really funny prank calls."
On top of that, the U.S. Attorney's office handling the case says her story about abuse of the Patriot Act was false.

I think you got that a bit twisted. The right has always been against big government, the extreme right extremely so to the point of paranoia. What is relatively new is the left's willingness to throw national security under the bus in their drooling heat to vilify the previous administration and placate the third world street.

I can change the age through the right legal doo-hicky. But, I foresee him learning about money when he gets his first car. I'll buy the car but, he'll be responsible for paying for gas, maintenance and his own insurance, as well as any tickets he mght get. I think paying for the latter will teach him about responsible driving 'cause if he gets a ticket he cannot pay and if his insurance goes up to the point that he cannot pay it, the car will be used for restricted purposes, such as only for school and work. (My dad once restricted me to 250 miles/week but, I figured out how to disconnect the spedometer.)

I don't think it's "many parents". We don't hear about the kids who don't get into trouble. When was the last time you read an article about an Eagle Scout or a kid who earned an academic scholarship to an Ivy League school? In the MFM, if it bleeds, it leads.
Unfortunately is IS many parents. Spend some time in an urban or suburban public school. See how little participation there is now in PTA'a there. See how few parents show up to after school activities. One of the reasons we liked the public school where we were when we 1st moved to Georgia is that the PTA was very big and active. After school activiteis PACKEd with parents
Now ,, same school ,,,,, not so much. The schools for the most part are free babysitting services

Sheesh, I'm old enough to remember Paul Hornung and Alex Karras truly paying incredible prices for even being associated with gambling and here this s.o.b. Vick, who purposesly raised dogs to kill other dogs for fun and profit (and iirc, there was some gambling around those Dog Fights) is getting out early and - no doubt - getting another contract to play pro-ball.
Fucker ought to stay locked up for another 4-5 years, at least.

Similar to the de-rating of torture. It is unconscionable that the word itself has been so diluted, and in an official sense no less, as to indicate embarassment or discomfort. What word then shall be reserved for those whose bodies were mutilated and broken in captivity? At the private school my daughter attended, there was a requirement that parents must put in 25 hours with the school in some capacity: coaching, lunchroom supervision, road trips, whatever. Some parents were there constantly, and some weren't; they would figure out how to get in their 25 hours and never show up again. Some years we put in more than 25 hours, some years right at 25 hours. But we knew who we could count on to help in a pinch.

I have zero tolerance for animal abuse. Zero. I think that a lot of serial killers start out torturing animals as children, then branch out to people as they get older. This isn't to say that Vick is a potential serial killer, of course, but his actions show a total lack of compassion and indicate that there's something seriously wrong with him- at least some degree, a sociopath
Sports stars used to be role models; now, far too many of them are people who have never been held accountable for their actions and are not really fit for life in normal society.
The NFL and the NBA has allowed this trend to continue in the pursuit of money. It's time that they took a stand, and continue to take a stand against the anti-social behavior that it becoming all too prevalent among these over paid thugs.

He's an entertainment genius who tapped the late, late night nutroots market with a radio show called "Art Bell: Coast to Coast". Art retired a few years ago and a guy named George Noory took over. Same format, though. Crazy people with crazy ideas and conspriracies. After midnight, they come out of the woodwork like cockroaches.
The best thing I ever heard on that show was a three hour interview with Walid Shoebat, the former PLO terrorist who converted to Christianity and is a strong supporter of Israel. Sometimes I work really late and will listen as I'm falling asleep, but that night I was up until 5:00am listening to Shoebat. It was memorable.

re: #374 haakondahl
Similar to the de-rating of torture. It is unconscionable that the word itself has been so diluted, and in an official sense no less, as to indicate embarassment or discomfort. What word then shall be reserved for those whose bodies were mutilated and broken in captivity? For this is certainly not the same thing that we are now "debating" in the context of legal or illegal actions on the part of the United States government.
The real problem with torture, as the issue now stands, is that there is no clear definition of what constitutes torture. This leaves the topic wide open to any sort of interpretation one side wishes to put forward that is most detrimental to the other side.
If the Democrats are concerned about torture and about ensuring that the United States never engages in torture, they ought to be working day and night constructing a usable definition of the term and enacting laws that demand compliance with that definition. Do you see any of them doing anything even a little bit like that? No, of course not. Because that would eliminate their ability to whine, accuse and grandstand over the nebulous non-definition that now exists, and it would automatically exonerate any acts committed prior to the enactment of such laws, since the Constitution forbids ex post facto lawmaking. While it would absolutely be the right thing to do if there was real concern over forbidding the use of torture, you won't see anyone actually taking that step, ever.
Example: a useful way to bring any accusations that torture was committed by the US is to simply ask the question, "How do you define torture?" This will bring the discussion to a screeching halt, because there is no definition that is even a little bit useful that fits most of the acts committed, or that doesn't lead immediately to the conclusion that holding prisoners at all is permissible.
So, to the Dems: put up, or shut up. If you're really serious about this issue, it's up to you to define and implement procedures and laws for unambiguously recognizing and punishing it when it occurs. Let's see you shut your yaps and do some actual work, for a change.

Irony update: Anti-science Mother who refused medical help for her child gets a visit from paramedics.....
DA: Girl Whose Parents Prayed to Defeat Illness Suffered 'Needless' Death
A Weston woman, accused of praying instead of seeking medical attention for her dying daughter, suffered a medical emergency as her homicide trial got under way but appeared OK about 30 minutes later.
.....
Prosecutors had begun laying out their case against Leilani Neumann, 41, on Saturday morning. About 20 minutes in to their opening statement, as they described the girl's condition the day before she died, Neumann put her head in her arms on the table.Moments later her attorneys expressed concern, asking for a recess so they could get her some air. She appeared visibly weak as her husband and others escorted her from the courtroom to a downstairs office.
Judge Vincent Howard ordered court security to call 911 and have Neumann medically evaluated.
While she was being examined by paramedics in the office, her defense attorney, Gene Linehan, told the judge Neumann was suffering a total physical and emotional breakdown.
.....
About 30 minutes later Neumann was brought back to the courtroom in a wheelchair. Her attorney indicated she was going to be OK.

Whoa, great link there reine! But I have a serious question. As per your link: "In 2003, they reported almost $24,000 in child care expenses and, in 2004, about $23,000. They also paid about $3,400 in household employment taxes each year."
I honestly didn't know you could deduct either "child care expenses" (whatever they are according to the IRS) nor "household employment taxes" - what on earth would that be? You hire a housecleaner or whatever, and deduct her/his expense? Or is it the taxes (mostly I'd guess social security/Medicare) you pay on her/his salary that you can deduct?

What are your thoughts about parents who feel only they have the right to name a new baby? We recently were told the name of our grandchild-to-be, and we aren’t fans of either the male or female name. The parents said it is their child and it isn’t our business. We’ve been supportive of them for many years — not just financially, although we have provided a tremendous amount of monetary help, much more so than the other side of the family, whose input was part of the naming process. We are hurt and wondering what to do. M.R. / Bedford

Ayers and his ilk may me itch to get them into a small room and 'clue' them in.
I've felt that way about Billy boy Ayers and his ever so charming wife Bernadine Dhorn since I first heard about 'em. Just love those cowards for "revolution!" - planting bombs - high explosive content and nails and other metal shrapnel and then running away so they don't even have to SEE the results of their "armed revolution" was always revolting to me. Even in my current condition I can guaranty that in a small, windowless room - locked from the outside, me and Billy - well I'd walk out.

I a large sense, these people have a larger faith than the common pew sitter, and they fully believe that the examples of healing in the scripture are available to them.

I have had friends who have had cancer picked up on blood tests and MRIs who prayed deligently, believed it would go away, and it did. Once we unraveled the genome, we have basically set ourselves up as the new God. We can build, repair, whatever we want on a genetic level. That means no more cancer or birth defects or other ailments that have cursed us since time began. But, it will also mean children in the future will get an artificial boost in evolution. If you are a believer, I suspect your flavor of christianity (or what ever you spiritual brand is), has certain beliefs based on you faith, and you try to act on those beliefs on a daily basic.

I don't begrudge her her beliefs, or her faith, for herself. That is between her and G-d. But I do have some problem with her belief as it damages another human.
As I'm watching this movie about Wilberforce, let me remind you that many Christians of that period thought slavery was perfectly acceptable, as it was listed in the Scriptures and never denounced. And yet that acceptance of slavery led to many other human beings being hurt, damaged, and killed.

Science discarding morality is just as perilous as morality discarding science. We can make the "brave new world" a paradise or a living hell, depending upon how we use it.
There are lines that we should not cross, but they are largely invisible. That's where medical ethics and some sense of moral judgment come into play as it is ethics and morals that make these lines visible. Alas, morality and judgment tend to be seen as subjective and therein lies the dilemma.
Bottom line; it scares the hell out of me as well.

What lack of faith. This woman see nothing in the scripture that talks of doctors and medical science. This woman read material by her church that tells her to trust g-d for healing, and then this woman puts all of her faith in those things she has read, been told, ben taught, and you tell me she has a lack of faith.
No she doesn't. You just don't agree with her faith or her beliefs or the flavor of christianity she follows. So, you judge her in a way that you would NEVER judge another christian.
I suspect she is not really a christian. (That last sentence is major sarcasm)///
Faith isn't just an arbitrary concept; you have to consider carefully who or what you have faith in. I can have a massive amount of faith that I can ignore the law of gravity, but it won't really get me anywhere, will it? If I want to walk on water, I have to have faith in the One who walks on water himself.
Walter, I think I understand your position; you are giving this mother a great amount of grace for living consistently with her beliefs. I wonder at times why we are more worried about being consistent in our beliefs when the people we oppose politically seem to care less about it. Why is being consistent better?
This is an open question.

Faith is the belief in that which is unseen. Gravity is seen, known, a measurable quantity.
This woman (and here christian sect) has faith in all the healing passages in scripture.
There are many incidents of people praying to g-d in scripture and receiving healing and other miracles.
Why is it suddenly wrong for this woman to have faith in those scriptures and passages?

No, I don’t like that she refused to seek medical care for her daughter.
And if her “flavor” of Christianity prevented her, then I don’t like that either, and I believe it’s done her and her daughter a great disservice.
I agree with vx here:

I have drawn a conclusion that faith does not mean I must deny science. And just as we can believe the "creationist/ID'ers" are doing a disservice to the state of education in this country, so I can also believe that any religion that denies to its adherents the bounties of science is doing a disservice to those believers.

That's because there are differences regarding how those healing passages should be considered. Some believe that those passages are only referring to the time when the Apostles were here and that such healings were a sign of power to show the power of the gospel. It seems this woman and her pastors do not agree with this position. I don't know which position is more prevalent, but it appears the "apostolic signs" position is the more accepted one, generally.
The Bereans were praised for knowing the scriptures and reading them diligently to understand what was written. The same proper handling of Scripture is just as important today--not just in regards to beliefs regarding healings, but to avoid all sorts of heresies and wacked out beliefs that are possible.

The question is the difference between faith and TRUST.
Faith is like watching a circus high wire act. I observe the performer walk out onto the wire with a wheelbarrow and I have faith that the guy will get to the other side without falling. After all, he's had plenty of practice and he's a performing professional.
Trust is me climbing up and getting into the wheelbarrow for the walk back.

Sure there are differences on how those passages are considered. That's because there some christians don't have faith in them, so certain theological schools of thought have had to go BEYOND scripture to explain what they believe is happening.
There is nothing in scripture that indicates that the miracles were going to stop when the apostolic age stopped. That is just extrapolation by theologians to explain away something that they can't explain otherwise.
Just because the Bereans were praised in their study of scriptures (which by the way was the hebrew scriptures if anything, not the greek scriptures) we have NO idea how they interrupted those scripture.

What?
Any technology is going to have good uses and bad uses. Computers enable an inhuman police state. Steel swords might make war too horrible to contemplate. If God had wanted man to fly, He would have given us wings.
Sure, there are bad things might happen with biotech engineering of genetics. Heck, the social impact of eliminating disease is scary enough! And what if they extend the life span by twenty or fifty or a thousand years?
Maybe the libs will suggest we make the average person hobbit-sized, to save on resources. Or legislate that everyone be exactly the same? Hermaphroditic, I presume. What if the "error rate" is rather high on any engineering, so you win a few, lose a few?
Frankly, the science is a lot harder than that, I'm afraid we won't see any real genetic engineering along these lines for decades if not centuries, so it's all sci-fi at this point.

So now who's judging--the atheist who is upset at Christians supposedly not having faith in their own scriptures? Forgive me, Walter, but that makes me laugh.
We're not allowed to judge Christians for their beliefs, but you are allowed to judge us for not believing the scriptures the way you say we should--even though you don't believe in G-d?

re: #558 vxbush
First off, I in no way agree with this mother stance, or in any person who turns to their faith over medical science.
But, on the purely theological side of things, this sort of action is the ultimate test of faith, and people like this woman are displaying more faith in g-d than most Sunday christians.
How can you deny her that faith and belief?
If you are a believer, I suspect your flavor of christianity (or what ever you spiritual brand is), has certain beliefs based on you faith, and you try to act on those beliefs on a daily basic.
You believe promises that you have read in scripture, you practice certain rituals because you have faith that they are meaningful and good and you look forward to many rewards.
Well, so did this woman, in a much more intense way than most religionist I know. Yet we damn her for her faith.
I don't understand.
Faith is a fine thing - as long as it's practice stops at the end of the practitioner's nose. In this case, it extended far beyond that point and was imposed on a young child who is presumably incapable of giving informed consent to such a prescription.
If the woman herself had been afflicted with Type I diabetes and was rapidly drifting into a coma, insisting that she felt she should pray her affliction away rather than seeking medical aid for it, I don't think anyone would have a problem.

re: #168 haakondahl
It doesn't actually apply to things like foreign policy unless you want our foreign policy to be, oh, say, genocide.
Go ahead. Have your little argument with Charles. And then we'll be hearing the tiny sound of your distant voice from wa-a-a-ay over there at the fascist and stalker blogs.
Unless perhaps I have completely misunderstood your comment.
yes, you probably have, i apologize for the drunkedness...If I were to say "we are at war with militiant Islamofascist (who have been at war with us) who blow up our buildings, and blow up our nighbor's trains, who kill us and enslave our labour when they steal the fruits of it...and that we should kill the bloody lot of them"
should I be banned? should I be banned for expressing what I believe is a logical sentiment? It's a pretty violent sentiment, it's not like I'm exactly happy sending my friends and family in harms way...but then, I'm in the camp that believes you don't have to hate the murderers you execute, to execute them.
tho some will hear what they want, won't they?
