If one believes in a Higher Power, wouldn’t the creation of the universe by one “big bang” that led via all the physical laws to the world we see today be quite the miracle the religious folks want to exist?

It certainly can be, but if you insist on a literal reading of the Biblical text, then you have to reject science.

And if you really want to be really literal, you have to reject parts of the Bible, as it contradicts itself in places, but that is what the death-defying bungee leap of faith is about…
