China has “pennies” but no one bothers with them. Odd amounts are rounded up or down to the nearest “dime” — the jiao, 1/10th of a yuan — because who cares about piddly amounts?

Canada stopped distributing pennies in Feb, 2013. I expect the US will follow suit around 2200.
