My first job, back in the 60s, was 35 cents an hour as a dishwasher in the restaurant where my mom worked as a waitress for 60 cents an hour.

I made 2.70 an hour doing various maintenance work around a motel a few blocks from my high school a couple hours after school daily and half a day on Saturday. Pretty good money for a 16 year old in 1970.
