Yes. And it’s not so much holding onto them, but buying more. They give the lowest returns of all bonds, since they’re short-term.

Or getting rid of them is smart if we default because they’d be worthless?

If we default, we probably won’t default on the entirety of the debt, but those payments might not be made, or a portion of them. So they wouldn’t be worthless, probably, but be less than what you bought them for.
