If you’re a business generally open to the public then you must serve all the public. It’s really not difficult to understand. I always laugh when I see those “we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone” signs, because, widely speaking, that right doesn’t exist.

Yes, if someone is being rude or harassing to staff or customers, you can remove them. But the whole point of public accommodations laws is that you sell to everyone or you sell to no one.

There are some limitations that are lawful. I believe it’s not illegal to impose certain requirements on attire —e.g. “no shoes, no shirt, no service.” And of course, there can be age requirements on certain facilities.

But before the Civil Rights Act of 1964, official segregation was legal and widespread in the South. And now, the Trump administration and the GOP are trying to reimpose these old dead rules on new groups of people. If 2020 sees us throw off the yoke of the GOP throughout the nation and the Democrats sweep out the GOP in Washington, we may survive this period. Otherwise — the future is grim
