Oh, definitely. Sherman was vicious on a strategic level, Forrest was vicious in tactics.

Sherman had a rationale for what he did, and it wasn’t a bad rationale— just like Zhukov had a rationale for marching his men through mine fields; it would be fewer casualties in the end, vs. a frontal assault.
