He really did. John Lewis and a lot of the other older progressives that have backed Clinton are men and women who are staunchly liberal but they’re willing to take the victories they can get. I’m different from many my age that I have that bent rather than the idealistic one. Take ACA for example, I do wish it was more extensive but I am also glad that because of ACA that pre-existing conditions can no longer be used to deny people.

Which made it especially offensive (and I think that’s too weak of a term) when some progressives called Lewis corrupt, particularly for taking money from corporations.

Basically, they were calling for unilateral disarmament on the behalf of blacks in a system that’s hostile to them.
