We have to find a way to talk our issues in soundbite form. Anyhow, we’ll see what happens. The losing on a local level is troubling though.

Republicans want to starve your children. (food stamps, school lunches)
They want to kill your grandmother (ACA)
They want to poison your dog (abolish the USDA)
They want to poison you (abolish the FDA)
They want you to die in a fiery plane wreck (freeze on hiring at the FDA of inspectors)
They want your veterans to die (privatise the VA)
They send your sons and daughters on worthless suicide missions (military)
They want you to pay their taxes (redistribution to the 1%)

Sound bites by their nature have to be over-the-top. Like Pres. Johnson and his pig-copulating quip, you have to get the GOP to get in there and deny those things.

When you’re explaining, you’re losing. Hillary Clinton had detailed plans for all those things. The GOP had “Benghazi, E-mail, Clinton crime family.”

Unless and until the Democrats are willing to play by the same rules the Republicans are, they will lose, because they are explaining.
