A person who is known to publish secret information obtained by others, who makes it known that he is in that particular business, becomes, then, the magnet for people wishing to take and disseminate information. He has become the thief, just as much as the person who does the actual thieving.
That’s how I see it, anyhow.
exactly. in casual conversation, the fence and the pickpocket are both guilty of theft, especially when we’re only trying to make the point that the fence is guilty of something.
