I think the Democracy Doomsday Clock went to 11:59:00 with SCOTUS taking this case, and effectively leaving the voters the last backstop against Trump, regardless of how they rule.

The documents case is basically on ice because of Cannon.

The Georgia case is on hold because of these stupid accusations against Fani Willis.

The Bragg trial will start soon, but that is the least consequential case of the four Trump is facing, relatively speaking (it would end the political career of mere mortals, not a demon like Donald).

Furthermore, some polls suggest a large enough percentage of voters believe Donald’s BS about being persecuted by LAWFARE!!!.

So that leaves November 5, and the polling is disturbingly unfavorable to Joe. He has time to turn it around. Personally, I think his biggest liability amongst his base is Gaza. There is little he can do to stop it, but he can forcefully condemn what I believe is - and may well have always been - an Israeli genocidal campaign against Gaza (I know some here will disagree, but that’s how I see what’s happening there). If he did that, some of the younger voters who have broken with him might come back, and that could be the spark he needs - the stick in the spokes that stops a vicious cycle and gets it turning in a positive direction. But he’s going to need a decisive victory - a bigger one than in 2020.

But of course, Donald will not accept that defeat, and he will throw every ketchup filled plate against the wall to overturn it.

And his team might just find a way for this sick court to do it.
