What exactly started the LGF hate there then?

I really can’t speak for Ace, since he hasn’t spoken for himself.

But I do know what started the LGF hate at Goldstein’s: It was Charles’s comment that “I hope Obama fails” was irresponsible. Some disclosure here - I sided with Goldstein over that one, initially, and defended him here (and Charles over there, because hey, I like living dangerously). I think most of the Right went with Goldstein - except for Patterico, but his blog sucks ass anyway, so he didn’t matter.

But then Goldstein went further and further trying to find something on LGF to post on his site as a focus of “Hundred Comment Hate”. People like SmallDeadAnimals’s Kate and, apparently, Ace and his bunch were still high on the idea of Goldstein as Ulysses Grant - “I can’t spare him, he fights” - and since the Right certainly hasn’t been getting any leadership from the Republicans these days, they followed Goldstein.

(This above was just my observation and could well be wrong… feel free to downding this one if it strikes you as wholly off base, but if so, tell me where it’s wrong.)
