And you just KNOW red states would be all over the, “We’re tough on crime and tough on addicts, so we’re gonna race to pass the most restrictive and punitive anti-marijuana laws in the nation” shit, while the blue states would be like, “Chill out, dude. Maybe smoke some of it and loosen up a bit.”

Though it is probably the red states that would benefit the most from standing back and thinking, “You know, this is a revenue stream we’ve not been able to tap before via taxes.”

Plus the ability to divvy out the licenses to sell it to their cronies.

(IIRC, wasn’t it Ohio or Indiana that was allowing medical marijuana and had pretty much handed the licenses to do so to political donors?)
