Yup! At my work they promised a “low 2%” transaction fee. After we add up the bull s*^t fees, it’s 4%. I’ll divulge that our margin on say pure gold or silver can be as little as 3.5%, but not via credit cards obviously. Those small business jewelers that pay on cc pay our fee plus the 4%. When we inform them about all this the business credit cards their bank talked them into are not so attractive. “Hey send a check as we ship and save 4%!” 4% of $1500 bucks per ounce.
