re: #140 MandyManners

I get involved when physical harm can happen, such as the face-masking attacks.

I debated with myself a long time about getting involved with the verbal bullying at school and at practice. I decided to jump in because this is an on-going, pervasive issue.

I do my best to give my son all the tools he needs to deal with the world but, at some point momma’ bear has to tear a strip off of someone.

He’s lucky to have you covering his back. I went to 12 years of Catholic school, and I don’t know if it was the times (50’s-60’s), or the places (Brooklyn and North New Jersey) or if it was some unspoken policy of Catholic education, but I was left up to my own devices with the bullies.

It was almost like the teachers and other adults felt it was an esteem building exercise to let the bullies do what they want, and the general attitude was YOU should fight back, do something about it yourself, stand up for yourself you whining sniveling little piece of shit.

Excuse me.
