So far Manchin has been a reliable vote while Biden has confirmed a record number of judges who are also the most diverse group of federal judges ever. But Sotomayor could make her retirement conditional on a successor nominated by President Biden being confirmed.

Why do we want two justices to be replaced? What predicated this discussion?
