No, because no real trafficking law is going to pass right now. You’d need to design a bill that would not burden lawful purchase of firearms and could not (not would not, but could not) act as a step towards gun registration. I have no idea how that would be done.

It would be impossible to do, without ‘burdening’ lawful purchases of firearms. So, you’re basically against the sort of laws that would stop the straw sales.

So you’d want the ATF to do what, exactly, in the absence of those stronger laws?
