The only GOP antidote is to find an excuse not to count them.

There is no reason that they cannot be counted first, it is just the accepted practice that they are counted last because up until recently, they were pretty much evenly split between parties and rarely tipped the outcome.

But the GOP knows that will not be the case (as with 2020) and they will be pressing to end the count while their man is still ahead.

there is a sort of logic to not starting the count before election day.
to prevent leaks.

i dont agree with it. especially when early in person voting is going on.

the rest of it is idiocy

- there is a totality (a “universe”) of valid votes for each election from different sources (mail in, early voting, day of, valid late mail in arrivals)
- for a tabulation to be fair, *all* valid votes must to be counted.
- the *order* that the ballots are counted has no effect on who the eventual winner is
- until they’re *all* counted no one knows who the winner is
- the only thing that matters is the result after they are all counted.
THAT number doesnt change. it is simply unknown until it is known.

if all the valid votes are not counted, that election result is unfair
