No, this didn’t happen under Bush.

But it’s been brewing for years.

What would Bush have done to stop it? Sent a sternly-worded letter? Commissioned Condee to deliver it? Offered the Pakistanis some shiny new hardware?

You can blame this on Obama if you like. The provinces in question along with the whole picture in Afghano spun out of control a long time ago.

I think about the Iranian hostages who were released after Reagan was elected. I read on blogs about how Carter did all the work, but the fact is they didn’t get released until after Carter was gone. Same with Bush. Who knows what he would have done? And therein is the deterrent.
