Hell, for that matter, let’s talk about the Irish. Everybody forgets about the Irish because they’re white, but if they could’ve signed away my family’s immigration rights, there were a lot of people back then that would’ve put their names to that paper gladly.

And I’m pretty sure the Irish, much like Italians and Jews, weren’t allowed under the banner of ‘White’ for a good long while, until there was a new/old menace to ostracize as ‘non-white’.
