Domestic oil until we can get new nuclear power plants and hydroelectric dams built. We’re improving our battery technology very quickly. We could painlessly transition to fast-charge plug-in electric vehicles and/or modular battery packs that could be swapped at fueling stations. If we, as a culture, were serious about energy alternatives, we already be doing it. Guess what? We’re not. We are still in denial (collectively.)
Would have to do a serious upgrade of the power grid before taxing it with electric vehicles.
