And absolutely dangerous. Our whole economy, it seems, is built on credit and borrowing. At some point, you have to pay that shit back. It simply cannot be sustained. If you dig the hole deep enough you wind up with so much debt that you can’t even service the intrest. When that happens, you are screwed.

This is true for individuals as it is for the Federal Government. You can’t always expect a raise to help you pay your bills, and the government can’t raise taxes forever.

Absolutely. No one my age seems to understand this. Everyone my age will understand it soon.
