Actually, depending on which of the TWO creation stories in Genesis, one has a time line something like this. (the one in Genesis 2:4-25)

1. God Makes Adam.
2. God decides it’s not good for Adam to be alone
3. God creates all the other animals and brings them to Adam to name them. (because you really want somebody who has no experience creating your taxonomy for you.)
4. God then creates Eve (he uses Adams rib in this story, in the version in Genesis 1, they are created at the same time and before the animals)

So, the infinitely powerful and all knowing God creates man, then creates all the animals, and THEN decides that a woman might be a good idea?

Just a nice set of factoids to have in the hip pocket for my “Bible is Literal” associates.

I think the first male who connected birth and where he came from, a woman’s vagina, invented the story of “Adam and Eve”.

From my feminist perspective, men have creation envy and have since that discovery—thus, male-centered religion was born, and since males can use brawn and force, being bigger and stronger than women, they could enforce it, not just over women, but over entire populations. It’s no surprise to me that “entertainment” like cage fighting, the promotion of war, including in gaming, etc. is so popular these days.

The more we develop our brains, the more we know, the more we progress. After all, you can live without brawn—but you can’t live without brain. If Sisyphus had a brain, we wouldn’t have that myth, Camus notwithstanding.

We have it all wrong, of course. Men should strive to be more like women, not the opposite, which is pushed on us.
