Not a day goes by that I don’t ask myself that same question. I have no love for Obama, but even I can see the majority of the “criticism” leveled against him these days as being driven by bile and hatred, not logic and reason. The thing that scares me the most, more than the GOP throwing their lot in with these loonies, is that otherwise intelligent and thoughtful folks have given the conspiracy theories and outright lies a level of legitimacy. It’s not the fire-and-brimstone-breathin’ dipshits that scare me, it’s the soccer mom who’s saying “Well, there might be some truth to the accusations” that turns my hair white.
