We’ve had those little monster here for over two decades. We look for the nest and poor bleach down the hole and around it, works every time.
Boiling water. I fill my wife’s gumbo pot with water, bring it to a boil, and then pour it right on the mound. Gotta do it at night, when they’re all in there.
Kills the grass for a while - hell, it sterilizes the soil, but works like a charm, and it’s gratifying to see all those dead fireants the next day.
