From the article:
“Apple sold 2.22 million Macs during the quarter, a 3 percent decline from 2008. The company also moved 11 million iPods, up 3 percent, and 3.79 million iPhones, which represent a 123 percent improvement over the year before.”
That’s completely insane — those kind of sales figures in just three months? No wonder they’re making money hand-over-fist. The profit margin on each item is huge.
But yes, it confirms your theory: iPhones and iPods are becoming a much bigger share of their overall sales.
And the reason they’re so successful is that their products really do deliver on the promises they make. My iPhone has become a seriously useful tool in my life.
