This is the best explanation of the issue I’ve seen. Most of the people who earnestly think #GamerGate is a legit cause don’t see or have a problem with the actual problematic cozy corporate relationships and simplistic ratings schemes that have been a part of gaming journalism for decades. They have a problem with women and indie friendly game reviewers writing reviews that reflect their non-mainstream tastes and preferences.

I’m just using it as an opportunity to poke fun at toolbags who are getting all worked up about women posting opinions.
