Anyway, Heather mentions how her employer attempted to encourage prominent national security figures to be more open with their dismay over all the US anti-mosque demagoguery, and here’s my quick transcript of that bit:

Heather: There’s a lot of people who should be hit for not saying anything and we, frankly — we spent a little time trying to, sort of, gin up more serious national security types to go out and say things and the level of fear that has been instilled over, you know, ‘what will happen to me if I say something on this issue’, was really, as a civil libertarian, very, very disappointing to me.

So let me get this straight…she claims as a civil libertarian she is disappointed that reputable people in national security did not want to ruin their reputations in a vulgar debate by endorsing the denial of civil liberties to a minority group…??!!

Up is down, black is white, and Big Brother loves me. Christ! Orwell was right.
