But Americans do not like dollar coins. We will not use them. We collect them, but we don’t use them. We seem to have some deeply ingrained dislike of them, and there it is.

The one pound coin works great because it’s easy to tell them apart from other coins. I hate getting a dollar coin because I know i’m just going to give it away as a quarter eventually.
