But he’s not a “dhimmi”— I don’t really think that phrase/concept has much meaning to it anyway, as a voluntary thing— and I don’t want us to start witch-hunting people based on that concept.

I was heartened to see how quickly Helen Thomas was spurned. I am at a loss as to why Buchanan is not. Unfortunately, one conclusion that can be drawn is that Helen Thomas was easier to castigate because she’s perceived as ‘leftist’, whereas Buchanan is on the ‘right’, where nobody gets kicked to the curb these days for anything other than being too moderate and reasonable.
