I have to agree. I use carbon steel fry ware and love love love it. The key is proper seasoning, never wash with soap- hot water only. Always dry and a thin coat of oil if it’s going to sit for a while. My pans are as non-stick as coated aluminum.
A little detergent now and then won’t hurt a properly seasoned pan. Just don’t overdo it.
