I think that, in a large way, it’s Romney getting frustrated with what he sees as uncooperative base. The party’s all but crowned him as the nominee, but the base keeps shitting on him openly and publicly. It’s a hate-hate relationship here: Romney hates the base, and they hate him in return.

Right about now, there’s probably orders going out for crates of champagne at the Obama campaign HQ.
