Slightly off topic.
While I’ve always been more apt to follow the scientific consensus and have been a science advocate for some time, I completely understand the journey you’ve been on. I’ve experienced it myself over the last 4-5 years on all sorts of other subjects, coming to realize that I’ve been swindled by far right propagandists in the past.

I am curious as to whether you’ve reflected as far back as the Clinton years (or further back) and wonder if your perception of events was equally flawed, being influenced by conservative misinformation or do you see this as a recent phenomenon?

I wasn’t even close to being a “right winger” during the Clinton years. I voted for Bill Clinton twice, and for Al Gore in 2000.
