Since health care is such a big issue I’d like to share some insight as to why National Health in Britain is not on balance positive in my view.

I spoke with a close friend today who had recently seen his neurologist. He stated his partial paralysis is likely permanent, and too bad he didn’t have the problem operated on right away before the damage was done. My friend said to the Doctor “How could I have had it done sooner when they had me on NHS waiting lists?”

He detailed, three weeks wait for the MRI. Then three weeks for the doctor to read it, then another waiting list for the surgery. Three months wait in all for an acute condition and a permanent disability as a result. This is someone fully employed their entire life, and heavily taxed to fund for this benefit.
