Exactly. There is a misconception out there that federal pens are decent places to be locked up which isn’t even close to reality. Maximum facilities, both state and federal, are brutal especially for fresh faced kids. No one in the family ever talks about it but we all know why he got his teeth knocked out within the first few weeks he was in.

Of course. I don’t know if you’ve seen it, (you probably know more than I about this) but HRW did a report on prison rape, which has not been covered at all, really, nationally. No one cares.
