why people waste all that drama on Beck is beyond me…freaking out because some nut says something nutty is a zero return investment…how freaked out and how often can one slam their head against a wall…I realize the newer posters have to get it out of their system…but Beck is just a symptom

He has a lot of defenders, he is extremely popular among Tea Partiers. He is extremely influential, and plays a big role in propagandizing for extremist ideology.

I’m not sure who’s “freaking out.”

I guess the hope is that if the facts behind the lies he spews are publicized enough, any reasonable Tea Partiers will see through his shtick.

Probably a bit of an irrational hope, I admit - particularly if its based on posting his clips on a blog where he is almost universally despised; but, the alternative to that hope is a bleak acceptance that we are powerless to do anything about his lies.
