This definition is circular, because we only know reality via perception.

It was Immanual Kant who said that conception without perception is empty; perception without conception is blind. Of course, he first published it in 1781, so you might consider the quote to be old and worn out - and may or may not consider it - or anything else - to be true.

To systematize perception is akin to applying logic or mathematics; it is a method of maximizing reception while minimizing error.
