When I was working for a telephone test equipment manufacturer in 1984 and 1985, an integrated circuit which converted rotary dial pulses to touch tone signals only cost about three cents when we bought them in bulk.

Oh, I find that easy to believe. Doesn’t change their attitude to her hanging on to them. When she passes, I need to snarf them so they don’t get returned to the phone company.
