Okay, I added that for dramatic effect. But if some pissed-off jihadist came for you at home (after somehow figuring out where you lived), there’s an excellent chance you would have SOME measure of warning, e.g., hearing a window break. While I agree that the chances of any jihadist attack against you are remote, if it were to happen, it’s not going to be some highly-trained hit teams dispatched from the Bekaa Valley. It’ll be some amateur jihadist. You’d have a realisitic chance of protecting yourself; unless, of course, you choose not to.
Anyway, of course it’s up to you, but I’d urge you to reconsider. No need to be “nervous” about having a firearm in the house, any more than there is about having, say, a chainsaw or other heavy power tool. It’s just a matter of learning how to use it safely, and keep it safe when not using it.
