You’re still pretty young. Get as many names and dates (births, marriages) as you can and keep them somewhere you won’t lose them. Once the old folks start passing, you’ll never get it again. If you can record stories, do that that, too.

Yeah I have a little file at home where I’ve kept some records I’ve gotten. IT was through those we found out about my grandfather’s last name. Unfortunately, only my mom’s mom is still with us. It may sound crazy since I am young but my dad’s mom would be 100 next year and she started losing her memory when I was just a little kid. Amazing woman though. She sparked my interest in Ireland and my Irish ancestry. I remember her having copies of Angela’s Ahses and ‘Tis lying around.
