True, lasting change is always messy. You need people working within the system to influence the legislative agenda and codify change into law (i.e. voting, running for office, calling legislators, etc.) and people working outside the system to put pressure on actors within the system (i.e. protests, sit-ins, other disruptive acts).

I think my biggest issue with the chanting tonight is it was counterproductive. It was done because they felt the people who were speaking are associated with war and therefore those voices shouldn’t be heard, never mind the content of what those voices were saying.
