If it’s totally unacceptable, what lengths would we need to go to to have a perfect success rate? Would we be willing to harm our economy and become isolationist, making interstate and international travel far more difficult?

I think terrorism is a threat, one threat among many to our country. I think a pandemic (which could also be man-made) that spreads due to horrible health care practices, anti-vaxxers, and general lack of health and emergency response infrastructure is a thousand times the threat to America that an airplane bomber is.

But a pandemic isn’t the interesting narrative that a terrorist is, so it doesn’t get the play on cable news, doesn’t capture people’s imagination, doesn’t have an easy adversary to point at, etc.

Well, it appears that Obama may be getting ready to do just that. He asked 14 nations to beef up their security techniques, in short, he is profiling 14 certain countries… and if the news reports are correct, the administration plans added security measures in the near future…

The administration may be willing to do a lot of things that are violations of our rights in the name of security.

Bothers me.
