I’m almost sure they stopped teaching that at least a decade ago. That’s diametrically opposed to “officer’s life first” strategy that’s now dominant in police training.

I’m related to several (active and retired) police officers. I can appreciate that, but at the same time, I would really rather they not have innocent lives on their conscience because they shot first and asked questions later. My uncle already has enough PTSD between Vietnam and decades of experience as a state police detective.
