It’s almost always the diagnosis after the fact, when the shooter is left alive,that is…….
Not that it’s worth keeping them around to find out, IMO.

This is what baffles me about our society. If a person kills another for some “sane” reason, e.g. he stole my horse so I shot him, one might reasonably assume that person to only be a public hazard to horse thieves. But if one kills by “reason of insanity” that person poses a general hazard to the greater population.

We all know which one is permanently removed from society… :-/
